What 'large loss' actually means

Most carriers route losses above $250,000 to a large-loss desk with different documentation, billing, and approval requirements than standard commercial claims. Above $1M, the carrier typically assigns a large-loss adjuster, often a forensic accountant for business-interruption, and may bring in their own consulting engineers. Our large-loss PMs are familiar with that workflow and produce documentation built for it from day one.

On-site command and logistics

On large losses we set up an on-site command center - typically a job-site trailer or a dedicated suite within the building - that houses the project manager, document control, and daily safety briefings. Crew lodging, equipment staging, generator power, and dumpster logistics are managed centrally so the job does not stall waiting for resources.

Mobilization across regions

When a single building loss outpaces local resources - a hotel fire, a campus flood, a manufacturing plant down - we activate mutual-aid agreements with regional restoration partners we have worked with for years. Equipment, crews, and project leadership scale up in 24 to 48 hours without the quality drop that comes with subcontracting to unknown vendors.

Carrier, broker, and adjuster coordination

Large losses involve more stakeholders: insured, broker, primary adjuster, large-loss adjuster, building consultant, forensic accountant, and sometimes a public adjuster. Our PM coordinates a single weekly call, distributes a single weekly progress report, and produces Xactimate-aligned scopes that match the carrier's preferred format. Decisions move faster, disputes drop, and the rebuild stays on schedule.
